Thanks for tuning in.

Thought I’d spend party of my #SundayFunday at @southernswells. Hadn’t had the Nine Zero Four #NEIPA yet, and I needed to get their stamp on my #jaxaletrail passport. I regret nothing. 😎🤘🍻

Brightburn - Official Trailer

The film, produced by James Gunn, directed by David Yarovesky (The Hive) and written by Gunn’s brother Brian and cousin Mark Gunn, Brightburn, is pretty much a Superman origin movie played for horror instead of superhero…ism.

Couple of different creators have tried this kind of story in the comics, with Marvel’s Squadron Supreme series having their expy of Superman (Hyperion) raised by a pair of actors in a pretend farm while under the supervision of the US Military.

The fake parents are MEANT to be a humanising presence (like the Kents were in the regular DC Comics), but their being borderline terrified of their son (who they knew could see and everything around for miles) ended up doing a real number on him.

Amusingly, the font used in the trailer’s credits appears to be a reference to the one used in the Snyder DCEU movies. Insert cheap joke their mishandling of Superman here.

Pretty excited for this!
